How to choose a logistics school

With the demand for education that is focused on logistics, certain schools are creating programs specifically for rank-and-file warehouse employees. They can also pursue certifications like the Certified Supply Chain Manager or the Certified Public Contract Manager to boost their career prospects.

Be sure to check if the institution is accredited. This is done by a group such as the U.S. Department of Education, or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. These organizations recognize 8,200 institutions and 44,000 programs. Look for a university with a good student-to-teacher-ratio, as this will ensure you receive a high-quality education.

Some colleges offer hybrid or online programs, which include classroom instruction and online learning opportunities. This model may be appealing to those who want a flexible schedule or are unable to take classes in a traditional manner. Some online-only programs offer associate degrees or certificates in addition to master’s or bachelor’s degrees.
